Every owner of a farm, land or plot has the right to be informed in writing and in a reliable way about the applicable urban regime and the possibilities of building their farm. The Mortgage Law and the revised text of the Real Estate Cadastre Law, after its reform by Law 13/2015, of June 24, establish a coordination system between the Real Estate Cadastre and the Property Registry, so that it incorporates the Georeferenced graphic description of the registry properties, using the cadastral cartography as a basis. This is intended to give greater security to the location, delimitation and surface data of the registry properties that are the object of legal traffic.

Urban Law is governed by Administrative Law

Forced expropriation is the deprivation of private property or rights or legitimate interests held over assets, regardless of who they belong to (individuals, entities, public administrations, etc.), for reasons of public utility or social interest.

Any occupation of maritime-terrestrial public domain assets with non-removable works or facilities and any occupation with removable facilities that, due to their nature, purpose or other circumstances, are carried out in the area of influence of Costas, will be subject to a prior concession granted by the State Administration. In the Canary Islands, from January 1, 2023, the competence corresponds to the Government of the Canary Islands.
